Privacy Policy

Effective October 14, 2026

Dō is a job management system for Chrome. Everything you put into Dō stays in your browser, on your device. There is no account, no server and no tracking, and nothing is sent to the developer or to anyone else.

Who makes Dō

Dō is designed and built by Melvin Lomboy (designedbyvin.com). In this policy, “we” means the developer and “you” means the person using Dō.

Dō started as a personal project and is shared for anyone who needs a simple way to manage their job applications. It isn’t a job site and doesn’t copy one. It replaces the spreadsheets and notes people use to track applications by hand.

What Dō stores, and where

Dō keeps the following on your device, in your browser’s own storage (IndexedDB) for the Dō extension:

This information never leaves your device unless you choose to export it (see “Backups and exports”). We cannot see it, and we have no copy of it.

How Dō reads job postings

Dō reads a web page only when you click the Dō icon in Chrome’s toolbar, and only the tab you clicked it on. It looks for the job details on that page, shows them to you to check, and saves them only when you click Save Job. Dō does not watch your browsing, does not read other tabs or sites, and does not keep a history of the pages you visit.

Dō web

Dō web, at do.designedbyvin.com, is the same app as a website for phones, tablets and other browsers, and this policy covers it too. It works the same way: everything you save stays in that browser, on that device. The website only sends the app to your browser and never receives your data. In Chrome, the extension saves the jobs you capture into Dō web in the same browser, so they share one list on that computer; other browsers and devices each keep their own, and you can move data between them with an export and import.

Reading screenshots

If you paste a screenshot of a job post into Add job, Dō reads the text in it on your device, with Tesseract, an open-source text reader that comes with Dō. No AI service is used, and the picture isn’t uploaded or kept.

Reminders and your calendar

Reminders for your interviews and other events are worked out and shown inside Dō, on your device. Nothing is sent to remind you. If you choose Add to my calendar, Dō either saves a calendar file (.ics) to your device, or, if you pick Google Calendar or Outlook, opens their page in a new tab with the event’s details in the link. That only happens when you choose it, and their own privacy terms then apply to what you save there.

Reading your CV

When you use Upload CV in your Career Profile, the file is read on your device to fill in your profile. Only the fields you choose are saved. The file itself is not kept and is not uploaded anywhere.

What Dō does not do

Permissions Dō asks Chrome for

Active tabLets Dō read the job posting on the current tab, only after you click the Dō icon.
ScriptingRuns Dō’s job reader on that tab and shows the Dō panel on the page, only after you click the Dō icon.
Unlimited storageLets you keep documents and photos (such as CVs and certificates) with your jobs on your device, beyond the browser’s default storage limit.

Dō also runs one small script on its own website, do.designedbyvin.com, only to tell Dō web that the extension is installed, and opens a hidden page of that website to save the jobs you capture into Dō web, inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, and it runs on no other site.

Dō does not ask for access to all websites, your browsing history, your passwords or your downloads.

Backups and exports

You can export your jobs to an Excel file, save your profile as a PDF CV, or download a backup of everything. These files are saved to your device, and you decide where they go from there. Dō only opens your email app (for example, when you choose Send feedback), and nothing is sent until you press Send yourself.

Buy me a coffee

Dō is free. Buy me a coffee in Settings → About, and an occasional card on the Dashboard, only open the developer’s tip page in a new tab; Dō sends it nothing. Tipping is optional and handled entirely by that tip service, whose own privacy terms apply to anything you enter there. Dō remembers on your device whether you opened it and when it last asked, so it asks rarely.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays until you delete it. You can delete a single job, or everything at once in Settings → Your data → Delete everything. Removing the Dō extension from Chrome, or clearing your browser’s site data for it, also deletes everything Dō has stored. Because we have no copy, we cannot recover it for you, so export a backup if you want to keep it.

Children

Dō is made for people looking for work and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If a change ever affected how your data is handled, it would be explained in the Chrome Web Store listing and in Dō before it took effect.
